Richard Benitez,

Student Services Paso Robles Public Schools Born in San Bernardo, California 1943. Grew up in Fontana, California. Presently an educator with the Paso Robles Public Schools.
The person who was a role model in my life was Mr. Armstrong, my 5th grade teacher because he was kind and considerate to all students regardless of race, gender, or ability.
I personally am a part of the Latino Outreach Council to promote educational opportunities to Latinos on the Central

Coast “Katcho” Achadjian
,
Supervisor District 4 County of San Luis Obispo
Born in Lebanon in 1951.
I came to the US, San Luis Obispo in 1971 and have been here ever since.
I am currently a member of the County Board of Supervisors. The role models in my life are my parents who survived civil wars, prejudice and poverty. I personally am a part of the Latino Outreach Council through an appointment by the Board of Supervisors chair.
Personally, I feel very close to the Latino Community since my background is as an Armenian born in Lebanon. As such, I was part of a minority group who has similar issues growing up in a country where my parents had immigrated from Armenia.
Our cultural and traditional similarities makes me feel close to the Latino members in our community and neighborhood.

Gloria (Castillo) Johnson,

Health Educator Community Health Centers of Central Coast In Spanish - http://chccc.org/espanol/ I am a Juneteen baby born in Dallas, Texas.
If you're from Texas and born before 1955, you'll know what that means.
I grew up in Santa Ana and transplanted here some 30 years ago.
I'm presently employed as a Health Educator and provide services bilingually. I have three role models in my life. My dad who is no longer with me, but who taught me to enjoy life with a smile, to always look for the good in everyone, and to have a good time along the way.
My mother for her dedication to her family, her unwavering faith, and loving guiding hand, and my husband whose strength, honest and moral fiber and unconditional has not only been my role model, but our sons' as well and truly the wind beneath my wings... Always supporting me in my endeavors and just bought me my first computerized embroidery sewing machine, on which we're both taking lessons. How's that for a guy?
My personal reason for being a part in the Latino Outreach Council - I truly enjoy the camaraderie of working with others towards the common goal, improving access to services for Latinos in our community and helping the community at large be more culturally aware and accepting through exposure to the wonderfully rich culture our Latino community members bring to share with us.
Often times the opportunity to learn and to grow through exposure to this culture is not only to be shared with our Anglo brothers and sisters but with Hispanics/Latinos born here as well, starting with yours truly.
I've been blessed and learned much, but have eons to go. Ernest Gomez I was born in Los Angeles, California. I grew up in downtown China Town district in LA.
I am currently an adult education principal.
My role models were my parents and brother Edwards for the Christina Brothers order.
I am in the Latino Outreach organization to create positive change in the community
